I'm Using My Toddler's Highchair... for Myself

I have something embarrassing to admit...

I have been using my child's high chair for myself.  Okay hear me out...

We removed our counter-height kitchen island last year and haven't regretted it for a moment. I love sitting down to meals at our extending dining table. We have 4 chairs and a highchair at our table all the time and have been meaning to pick up a couple of folding chairs for guests.  Since we don't have folding chairs yet, we usually pull over our log stump which Trevor sits on and I know this is not his first choice for a seat.

The other night we had 7or 8 people total so I tried sitting on Theo's highchair.  I remember vaguely reading something about the Tripp Trapp holding over 100lbs.  It was surprisingly comfortable and I went to sit in it again the next time we had dinner guests... but to be safe we googled it and found that the Stokke Tripp Trapp can carry up to 185 lbs!! I get to sit in our dining chairs all the time so I am happy to sit on the highchair so my friends can be comfortable.  The Tripp Trapp also solves the issue that we don't easily have room to store folding chairs.  If I didn't love the Tripp Trapp already (I do), I couldn't love it more now and plan to get a second for our second child (and dinner guests).  If you want to try this at home just make sure you carefully clean the highchair before you sit in it ;).
