Små(ll): A small space with only IKEA furniture Part II Living Room

Sharing more details of my booth for IKEA for Små(ll) for last weekend’s Vancouver Home Show. The walls of the living room ended up being smaller than the 10’ x 10’ that I expected, so I was happy I had gone with my instincts and opted for less furniture than more. I went back and forth about adding a coffee table and I’m happy I kept it as open as possible with a side table.

This small room is made up of a Flottebo sofa bed and a Vedbo lounge chair (same one we have in our home) and an IKEA hack of Besta cabinets with a Pinnarp countertop. I wanted to mount the cabinets on the wall about 5-6” off the ground but we decided it was a bit risky with the partial walls of the show. If you are doing this at home I think that would be a nice detail.

I love the idea of filling an entire wall with Besta cabinets to hide electronics, toys, accessories, or any necessary clutter that you don’t need to look at everyday. This leaves the top of the cabinets for some special prettier items that are meaningful. Things like family photos, plants, a lamp and art. Everything here is Ikea except for the art I made with the kids with poster board and my talented friend Renske’s Art above the couch.
